Maui County Jail and Prison Search
Hawaii DCR runs both jails and prisons, but the records still differ by status. A pretrial detainee in Maui is usually tied to MCCC and local court processing. Maui County Booking Process
A Maui arrest may pass first through the MPD Receiving Desk / Wailuku Police Station. MPD records material says the Records Section processes legal documents for arrests, warrants, protective orders, summonses, subpoenas, and active NCIC documentation. If the person remains detained after police processing, custody normally shifts to MCCC. Court records after that arrest appear in eCourt Kokua when a public case exists.
Booking is administrative intake after arrest. It is not the same as a conviction. A charge listed in court may differ from the arresting allegation, because the prosecutor decides what formal charges to file. Contact a Maui County Inmate
MCCC mail rules require the inmate first and last name and SID number when available, c/o Maui Community Correctional Center, 600 Waiale Drive, Wailuku, HI 96793. Incoming and outgoing mail is monitored. MCCC procedures list many reasons mail can be returned, including missing names, missing return address, stickers, glitter, glue, altered photos, social-media screenshots, sexually explicit content, and more than five photos per envelope.
DCR says GTL provides inmate phone service. Friends and family may use prepaid options through ConnectNetwork, and GTL tablets support video visit calls and other services. MCCC procedures say non-privileged video calls can be monitored and recorded, three-way calls are not allowed, and messages will not be delivered to inmates by calling the facility.
Maui County Inmate Funds
MCCC procedures and DCR updates document two money paths. Older procedures describe approved visitors mailing cashier's checks payable to Maui Community Correctional Center with inmate and donor details and a $200 monthly limit. DCR later described GTL/ViaPath ConnectNetwork electronic deposits for approved visitors, limited to $300 per inmate per month. Fees may apply, and deposits or payments are transmitted to the facility within 1 to 2 business days subject to DCR policy.

Maui County Police Records Requests
MPD directs users to the public-records portal for police reports and says fax or mail requests must include an email address, phone number, and a legible copy of photo ID. In most cases, MPD says the report should be received within 10 business days. Copies under 25 pages have no fee, while possible fees include $0.25 per page, $5 per CD-R, and search or segregation fees. MPD says uninvolved third parties may receive redacted reports to protect privacy rights.
